My background
I was born in Bowmore on the Isle of Islay in 1968, and although my family moved away when I was only a baby I go back as often as I can to visit and wander the beautiful beaches of the Island.On leaving school I volunteered at my local nursery working with 3-5year olds...now there's an age group who really understand the importance of saying what you really feel! No inauthenticity there!
When I was old enough I trained as a nurse and worked off and on (between having my children) for 10years in a variety of wards and departments.
After having my 3rd child I went to Dundee University and gained a Certificate in Education, but decided I didn't want to work in schools and had a total re-think about my career.
It was at that time that an ex-colleague & dear friend of mine suggested I train in Ericksonian Solution Focused Psychotherapy - which I did! This is where I met Dr John Eaton, the founder of Reverse Therapy. On completing my Diploma at Regent's College, London I then went on to train in Reverse Therapy, qualifying in 2004.
Since then I have worked for hundreds of hours with clients who have presented with a vast range of conditions and symptoms. I am passionate about Reverse Therapy and the effectiveness and consequent recovery rate for my clients is over 90%.
In 2006 I was asked to pilot delivering Reverse Therapy by telelphone to individuals unable to receive face to face consultation at a clinic. I am delighted to report that 3 years on I have successfully treated clients from Australia, USA, Canada and Hong Kong..and even more interestingly their recovery rate is the same as face to face work, returning to health within an average of 3-6 sessions.
I love delivering RT - it's such a joy to teach someone how to apply the principles to their life, step back and watch their recovery!
